Testo brano

While you're reading your newspaper
I'm dying in some other place
You care about your dirty business
But I was told: “That's the way”

They try to say we are all the same
“They are all killers and thieves”
I'm not angry and I don't complain
But isn't it a little insane?

I'm not looking for false compassion
A spot on a TV show, runaway attention
I don't ask you to let me in
But tell me, can you touch my dry skin?

I was born unlucky, that's all
Everyday I get my back against the wall
Does God want violence and anger?
I'm so tired to feel like a stranger

I always hear about prayers and pity
From people who I don't know
All I want is something to eat
A safe home, instead of dying in a boat

I'm not looking for false compassion
A spot on a TV show, runaway attention
I don't even ask you to let me in
But I'm sure you can't touch my dry skin

I saw my brothers drown in the sea
I kept thinking: “It could have happened to me”
There's people laughing and joking about this thing
But if I met them, could they touch my dry skin?

I should not be treated like a king
But we're all humans, aren't we?
I don't ask you to let me in
But tell me, can you touch my dry skin?
But tell me brother, can you touch my dry skin?
